COUNSELORS

Hi, my name is Celine Wu and I am currently a Freshman at Montgomery Blair High School in the Magnet Program for Math, Science, and Computer Science. I am passionate about STEM! I have qualified for AMC 10, a national math competition for advanced 10th graders, in 7th and 8th grade. I also received 6th place in SIGMA, a world wide math competition, in 7th grade, and 5th place in the 8th grade. I also received honorable mention in the Montgomery County Science Fair, and 2nd place in communication. I am experienced working with young kids. I serve in the elementary class at my church and volunteer at Beverly Farms regularly. Another passion of mine is playing club volleyball. I have competed in Nationals multiple times, representing the Chesapeake Region (MD, VA, DE). I would love to work with young girls and instill the same passion I have for STEM in them: girls can excel in STEM, and it is really fun!

Hi! My name is Kaylen Chang and I’m in 9th grader at Winston Churchill High School. I love the performing arts, including musical theatre, singing, and dancing. I have performed in multiple shows such as Mary Poppins Jr. (as Mary Poppins) and Unlabeled (as Alexa). Along with three years of voice lessons, I am an International School of Music Ambassador which allows me to bring music to those in hardship. For two years, I was a camp counselor at Levine Music Summer Camp at Strathmore. Art is all about expressing who you are, and I will help the girls do just that. I want to show the girls of Ladies in Training that they can pursue whatever they want in life, such as arts, literature, math, science, and so much more!  As a girl, finding positive role models can be difficult. In Ladies in Training, we strive to teach the girls to build each other up while learning new things.

Hullo! I’m Mae, a student at Churchill High School. I’ve done two first aid classes and one weather safety class. I volunteer weekly at my synagogue’s Sunday school program. I also own my own photography business, and I specialize in children’s birthday parties. I am an avid writer, and I play three instruments. I love to sing and hang out with my younger brother. I was in the LIT program in fourth and fifth grade, and then I helped out as a CIT for a year. I’m so excited to be a counselor for LIT! :)

Hello! My name is Mina Mayerczak, and I am a 9th grader at Winston Churchill High School. I have trained as a Ladies in Training CIT for the past year. I have been working with kids ages two to seven at a local pre-school, Geneva Day School for the past two years. I am also an alumni from the original Ladies in Training program. I can’t wait to teach the kids important skills needed for success in school and life!
